JUDI
GUNTER
Judi
is an avid antique doll quilt collector. She enjoys analyzing the
designs and colors in the quilts, and occasionally uses them as the
basis for her workshops and lectures. (Click on thumbnail to
the left to see a close up of Judi and one of her quilts.)
To become a NQA Certified Judge, Judi was required to successfully
complete an extensive written test, and pass a panel review given
by other certified judges. As a judge, she adheres to a Judges Code
of Ethics, continues to upgrade her quilting skills, examines new
quilting trends, and studies current judging procedures.
As a teacher and lecturer, she teaches adult and children's quilting
at guilds and shops throughout the East Coast. Her lectures and workshops
have been available at the Quilters Hall of Fame, the National Quilt
Extravaganza, Vermont Quilt Festival, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival
and the World Quilt and Textile Show.
Judi's work has been part of national juried exhibits at the Schweinfurth
Memorial Art Center in NY, International Quilt Show in Houston, American
Quilter's Society Quilt Show in Paducah, Southern Maryland Quilt Show,
Williamsburg Quilt Festival, and Quilter's Heritage Celebration in
PA, as well as numerous local shows. Her quilts and articles have
also been published in several magazines.
Judi Gunter resides in Chestertown, Maryland with her husband. She
is a member of the National Quilting Association, Baltimore Appliqué
Society, Olde Kent Quilters, and the Mason-Dixon Quilt Professionals
Network. Judi is also a member of the Annapolis Quilt Guild where
